From the eastern coastal region of Florida, the Gulf coast strain of cubensis is very potent. An abundant fruiter the gulf coast strain has average to large fruits. Colonization temperatures 84/86 degrees F. Fruiting temperatures 74/78 degrees F. is optimal.

It is a speedy colonizer and enjoys a wide range of temps from 60s to temps in the low 90s. This gulf cost strain originated somewhere near the Gulf of Mexico, presumably around the Texas Coast.

Gulf Coasts grow long, slender and dense with a very fleshy stem. Stems often grow close to 20" inches in length in bigger substrates. Cap colors are some of the lightest found in the cubensis realm. Caps are often light yellow or beige, sometimes gold or bronze colored as well with a darkened center spot.
